Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re doing so because of our Facebook page. You probably enjoy Facebook and the interactions and information it provides. Most of the time, Facebook is a fun, safe place where we can meet friends and acquaintances, play, learn, share, and enjoy some leisure time. But Facebook – like any popular venue – provides the perfect place for criminals, scammers, and rumormongers. In the next few posts, we’re going to talk about all of these, teaching you how to avoid getting robbed, scammed, or duped into believing something that isn’t true.
To help us in our quest, we’d like to hear from you. When have you ‘been had’ by something on Facebook? Did someone hijack your account? Did you click on a link that took you somewhere shocking? Have you ever lost money? Have you ever had a close call? Tell us your stories below on our Facebook page or on our blog. Maybe your experience will help others keep their Facebook experiences safe and enjoyable!
