WordPress had a huge update this time. They’ve incorporated a brand new page builder called Gutenberg, which is based on blocks. It’s a whole new user experience. Because the change was so massive, we waited even longer than usual to update from WordPress 4.9, making sure that most of the bugs were worked out, but also giving developers time to make sure that their plugins were compatible.
We also installed a ‘classic editor’ plugin, so that our users wouldn’t have to use the new blocks until we get training ready for them. We’re using Gutenberg for a few sites, so we can be familiar with it. And yes, we’ve noticed some glitches. Overall, though, we think that it’s a good move.
